Touch ID also works with Safari’s AutoFill feature to fill in your stored user name and password and sign in, and with fast user switching.

Drawbacks

Magic Keyboard with Touch ID only works with Macs with Apple Silicon processors. This means it won’t work with Intel-based Macs or even M1-based iPads.

While this keyboard is offered in multiple colors, you can only get the colored keyboards together with an iMac of the same color. You only have the white color option when buying this keyboard on its own. You can get this keyboard with black keys, but only with the version that includes the numeric keypad.

The Touch ID button is slightly slower compared with MacBooks with built-in Touch ID.
